Our Speakers

Assoc Prof David Colquhoun

A/Prof David Colquhoun is a Clinical Cardiologist and has been consulting at The Wesley Hospital since 1984. Dr Colquhoun does invasive and non-invasive cardiology and has a particular interest in preventative

cardiology, nutrition and psychosocial factors for heart disease. His sub-specialities are lipidology, echocardiography and angiography.

He commenced the non-invasive lab at The Wesley Hospital the year he started, which has continued to flourish and is now run by the HeartCare Partners. Dr Colquhoun

also conducted the first randomised clinical controlled trial in the hospital. He is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Queensland.

Dr Leanne Elich

Dr Leanne Elich is an award-winning Neuroscientist, Behavioural Economist and internationally recognised expert in the science of human behaviour, decision-making and performance. She is known for translating complex neuroscience and behavioural science into practical strategies that change how people lead, influence, communicate and make decisions

With a PhD in Cognitive Neuropsychology and an extensive publication record, Leanne was awarded the 2023 Top 20 Women in Business and the 2024 Women in Impact Award and was inducted into Forbes Women Australia. She is a graduate of the University of Sydney, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Medical School.

But credentials only tell part of the story. Leanne is known for bringing science to life with energy, humour and sharp insight, making the complex immediately relevant and remarkably practical.

Her mission is simple: changing business, one brain at a time.

Professor Nick Glozier

Nick Glozier is a consultant psychiatrist with expertise in epidemiology, trials and health services research. His research interests include public mental health, sleep, workplace stress and discrimination. He established a clinical trial and treatment unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, focusing on interventions for complex mood disorders. This unit offers a ketamine program for treatment-resistant depression and interventions for chronic mood and sleep conditions. Glozier has a longstanding interest in workplace mental health and psychiatric injury and has contributed to the WHO's Disability Classification system. He advises government, WHO and industry bodies and produces policy-relevant research and program evaluations for NGOs, industry and government.

Professor Sepehr Shakib

Sepehr Shakib is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Adelaide. He is involved in teaching medical, dental, nursing and health science students in a variety of pharmacology topics. His main interest is in the management of complex patients with multimorbidity and polypharmacy.

Professor Shakib is a recipient of multiple awards and grants and has over 100 publications in a range of areas. He has been involved in over 250 first in human clinical trials in a wide range of therapeutic areas. He has an Instagram account for people to ask him questions that they can’t ask in person (@pharmatine_studies)
